Position Overview
The Pattern Maker is responsible for independently creating precise patterns that bring brand's designs to life. This role is central to the development of our collections, ensuring every garment meets our high standards for quality, fit, and style. The Pattern Maker works closely with the design team to transform design concepts into production-ready patterns, making necessary adjustments through sample creation and fitting.
Key Responsibilities
Translate design sketches and specifications into detailed, accurate patterns ready for production.
Ensure that patterns meet the intended fit, shape, and fabric specifications provided by the design team.
Make adjustments to patterns as needed based on design changes and fitting feedback.
Sample Production
Independently produce samples and prototypes to evaluate design concepts and pattern accuracy.
Conduct initial fittings to assess garment construction, fit, and overall appearance.
Modify patterns after fittings to achieve the final approved fit and look for each garment.
Review patterns thoroughly to ensure they meet brand’s standards of quality, consistency, and functionality.
Monitor garment construction processes to ensure patterns align with production requirements and design intent.
Collaborate with production to resolve any fit, fabric, or sewing challenges that arise during sample creation.
Document pattern changes, adjustments, and construction notes for consistent production standards.
Maintain an organized archive of all patterns, templates, and technical notes for future reference.
Assist in grading patterns to accommodate various sizes as needed.
Create detailed tech packs for each garment, including specifications for stitching, measurements, fabric type, trims, and construction details.
